There are some negative reviews, but most are usually due to a mayor wipe that was done before it went to full release earlier this year. As with any MMO, the gameplay is what you make of it. Iam in the Exam Phases which are hard for now but gives you a taste and basic formation of whats ahead.

I have put more time into Naval Action for now, although it´s another MMO, I like the detail it has. Thank you, I havent done much with it yet, just got my feet wet to see how it is but I foresee enjoyment with UA: AOS, it does remind me of the mentioned Age of Sail II. What they market seemed to be very little of the actual gameplay. Unfortunately, I didn't care for Naval Action.

I'm interested to know your impressions of it. Just thought I'd share, since I happened to have both games. It is early in development, so I am excited to see what it becomes. Ship designs start with the first dreadnoughts and end with 1945. I tend to think this will be the case later in development. I would prefer using real ship classes, personally. The computer randomly creates classes for the ship types you chose for the battle (you can design your own, but not the others). In its current state, you can basically just set up single battles and play them. One really cool feature is that you can design your own ships. Engagement ranges are much more realistic than, say, World of Warships. You can also purchase new, better ships (though I have not been able to afford it, yet).ĭreadnoughts is very cool and has a lot of potential. Ships captured can be pressed into your own service or sent to the admiralty for a prize. You can also upgrade your ships by purchasing better equipment or pursuing technologies. It is certainly challenging, and you have to pay to repair your ships and replenish your crews, so there's a lot of incentive to be careful. You have command of a small force of ships and Marines and carry out the orders you're given by your commanders. It is heavily scripted, so unsure about replayability, but I am enjoying it. I am playing through the British campaign now.

Good graphics and pretty realistic gameplay.
